I recently saw the movie Bohemian Rhapsody and it was so inspirational.  Talk about following your heart, finding your gift and never giving up.  I always knew of the band Queen and Freddy Mercury, but when I look at their list of hits it’s mind boggling.

Another One Bites The Dust.  Crazy Little Thing Called Love.  Somebody To Love.  We Will Rock You.  We Are The Champions.  And of course, Bohemian Rhapsody.

And they had to fight to make Bohemian Rhapsody a single as the music industry said it would be too long to play on the radio.  Yet today, it’s one of the best-known songs of all time.

How many of these songs are part of our own personal soundtrack?  Bring up memories of sport games or school musicals?  Flashbulb moments in our own journey?

Was Queen successful from day one?  Of course not.  They struggled.  They doubted themselves.  They wrote songs that were like nothing anyone had ever heard before.

They took a chance.  They were themselves.

And they changed us.  They changed the world.

Many say their set at the Live Aid concert in 1985 was the best live gig of all time.  On a day when stars like Elton John, Madonna, U2, Duran Duran and Phil Collins shared the stage.

They were unforgettable.

May we all be so fortunate to take a chance on ourselves and show the world that we are the champions of our own lives.
