When we wake up in the morning, do we feel cheated or blessed?  Do our thoughts land on the fact that we didn’t get enough sleep or we didn’t make good choices with what we ate yesterday or we didn’t finish what we started?  Or do we feel lucky that we have a blank page to begin again?

Do we stretch and remember that our body, which we often judge as too heavy or not muscular enough, has been carrying us through our days for years and years?  Asking for very little?  And that the people we cross paths with today may smile or laugh or be inspired because of us?

Do we start our day off on the wrong foot or do we see all the opportunities to grow and evolve and create in an ordinary day?

As writer and politician Johann Wolfgang von Goethe once said, “It is not doing the thing we like to do, but liking the thing we have to do, that makes life blessed.”

So let’s start today like it’s the first day.  The first page in our story.  No baggage.  No grudges.  No regrets.

As singer El DeBarge once sang, “I’m too grateful to be hateful. I am too blessed to be stressed.”

Let’s be grateful for the blessings and make today everything it can be.
