As I approach my 49th birthday, I think the word for my next year will be courage. Courage to change. Courage to start fresh. Courage to accept. Courage to believe.
As French military leader Napoleon Bonaparte said, “Courage isn’t having the strength to go on — it is going on when you don’t have the strength.”
The last year has been heavy for many. Heavy with worries, the unknown, and the loss of celebrations and the comfort we once knew.
But as author Neale Donald Walsch said, “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”
Maybe this is a new chapter.
The only thing guaranteed in life is change. And if we have the courage to embrace it, anything is possible. It’s the only way to become everything we were meant to be.
