Do you judge yourself?  Do you play a track in your head that says you didn’t try hard enough or you ate too much or you should have gone to the gym?  Do you highlight the negative instead of the positive?

The key to success in life is treating yourself as you would treat a close friend.  Give yourself space to make mistakes, to rest, to be unsure, to overindulge and then get back in the groove.  Accept your flaws with your gifts and know that the DNA that allows you to do amazing things will also cause you to do a few things that aren’t so grand.

As research professor and author Brené Brown said, “Let go of who you think you are supposed to be and embrace who you are.”  No one is you and that is your power.

Brené also said, “Loving ourselves through the process of owning our story is the bravest thing we will ever do.”

Self-love is the love that will set you free.  It will allow you to grow, to challenge yourself, to find your tribe.  It will give you confidence and happiness and help you change the world.

You will fall.  You will fail.  But you are perfectly imperfect and in order for the world to love you, you have to love yourself first.  Own your story and your role as the main character.  You are the only one who can play it just right.
