Everything happens for a reason. I tried to explain that to my 12-year-old son a few weeks back when he was cut from the hockey team he played on last year. I told him that sometimes life isn’t fair. As an adult, you may feel that you are the most qualified for a certain job and then be passed over for a promotion. But you’ll end up on the path you were meant to be on in the end.
Then before the first game this past weekend, he was pulled up to the team that would be playing his former team this season. And he scored the first two goals of the game which they ended up winning. He was thrilled.
Sometimes in life we think we are not where we are supposed to be. As spiritual author Eckhart Tolle once said, “Stress is caused by being here but wanting to be there.”
But the only thing we have is now. This moment. So we have to embrace it, learn from it, grow from it and wait to see what happens next.
As Henry Ford once said, “When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.”
Here’s to taking off and flying like the wind. And knowing you are exactly where you are meant to be.
