Author and poet Annie Dillard, born 73 years ago today, became the youngest American woman to win the Pulitzer Prize at age 28. Annie once said, “How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.”
How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.
And author Will Durant said, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”
What are our daily habits? Do we read, exercise, meditate, or spend time with friends? Do we eat or drink excessively, worry, or sit in frozen inaction because we don’t know where to start?
We are what we repeatedly do.
It’s so easy to slip into a pattern that is stunting our growth. Life can be stressful and double-booked and overwhelming.
But life is also about choices. And the choices we make create habits that will make or break us.
How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.
How will we spend our day today?
