Laverne & Shirley

There are certain television shows that bring you right back to your youth.  For me, they are Welcome Back Kotter, Happy Days, Family Ties, Three’s Company and Laverne & Shirley.

So when I heard that Penny Marshall passed away yesterday, it made me pause.

I loved the friendship Laverne and Shirley had.  How they worked hard and were trying to make something out of their lives.

When I was working the midnight shift at Labatt Brewery during the summers while I was at university, I remember envisioning Laverne and Shirley at their factory job and I was always singing the lyrics to their theme song under my breath.
