John Lennon sang, “Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans.”  So often we are laser focused on what we think should be happening and we miss what is really going on.  Our very own story.  Our quest.  Our legacy.

Mythologist and writer Joseph Campbell said, “We must let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the one that is waiting for us.”

Life may include getting fired or divorced, receiving a scary diagnosis or being forced to move homes.  It may bring a lost opportunity or a newfound friendship.  Our thoughts will lead the way on whether we embrace the change or fight it.  And if we fight it, it will take a lot longer to learn the lesson meant for us.

We must remember that every single thing that happens to us is sculpting us into the person we were meant to become.  We will see that magic once the years pass, but why not notice it while it’s happening?

The definition of an alchemist is “a person who transforms or creates something through a seemingly magical process.”  We are all alchemists in our own lives.  We are taking bits of things we learn, things we see, failures we rebound from and people we meet and are molding it into the person we are meant to become.

Life is happening.  You are magic.  Notice it today.
