There are negative and positive ions all around us. And in fact, the negative ions are better for us. They are found in the woods and by waterfalls. Positive ions are not great for us. They are found in clothes dryers, phones, computers and air pollution.
But the positive and negative will always be there. We need positive and negative charges to make electricity. We can go for a walk in nature, but if we want to communicate our inspiration from that walk, it will most likely be done on a computer. Negative ions and positive ions together again.
And there are only two ways to look at every situation in life. Through love or fear. In this case the positive one is better for us. Love.
Fear can stop us from speaking our truth, following our heart, using our gift and being ourselves. Love can help us forgive, make us stronger and drown out hate.
If we are scared of making a mistake, taking a chance or following a different path than expected, we will be unable to grow and learn. If we love and trust ourselves and our decisions, embrace failure and know that we are enough, we will flourish.
Although a positive outlook will lead to happiness, the negative things are part of that journey as well. Author Gretchen Rubin said, “Negative emotions like loneliness, envy, and guilt have an important role to play in a happy life; they’re big, flashing signs that something needs to change.”
So every time you have to make a decision, think about whether you are making it out of love or fear. Know that there will always be a positive and a negative side to everything. And remember that you need them both to live life to the fullest and find your way.
