Words to inspire the belief that we have all we need to be the change we wish to see.

Older or bolder?

Are we getting older or bolder?  Each day we have the opportunity to think we have missed our chance to do something or we can just jump in and do it.

And the bolder we are the younger we feel.

Last weekend I literally leaped right out of my comfort zone and went ziplining with my kids for the first time.

Was I scared to step off the platform?  Yes I was.  But once I was soaring through the air like a bird I felt like I could do anything.

As Eleanor Roosevelt, the longest serving First Lady of the United States once said, “You must do the things you think you cannot do.”

Because once you have done it, you can’t unsee it or unfeel it.  You are different. You are empowered.  You are bolder and ready to face the next challenge that comes along.

This feeling is invaluable.  In life, you must believe in yourself beyond reason and this is the way to get there.

It’s not talent that paves the path to success.  It’s grit and never giving up and trying new things and risking failure.

As poet Robert Frost once said, “Freedom lies in being bold.”  He also wrote one of my favourite poems, The Road Not Taken.  In it Frost says…

“I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less travelled by,
And that has made all the difference.”

What bold road can we travel down today?

Be willing to take that first step – confidence is increased and as you said, you felt that you could do anything! Thanks for posting!
