One year ago today I was told that my book was live and available at Indigo and Amazon. I grabbed a copy, ran outside and got my son to take my picture. Then I shared my story and never looked back. What a whirlwind year. I’ve done book signings, spoken to students and executives, and been honoured each time someone decided to purchase a copy of The Treasure You Seek.
Have there been days when I doubted myself? Absolutely. Have there been unreturned emails or phone calls? Definitely. Did that stop me? No. I may have had moments when I had to put the kettle on and regroup, but I never stayed there for long. I kept getting back up and sharing my message of embracing failure, being resilient, having grit and never giving up.
Doubt is inevitable. Doubt is human. Author Khalil Gibran said, “Doubt is a pain too lonely to know that faith is his twin brother.” You have to believe in yourself beyond reason. Have faith that you have what it takes.
Author Dan Brule said, “If you are going to doubt anything in life, doubt your own limitations.” Because once you leave your comfort zone, your limitations fall away. What you thought was impossible becomes reachable. What you thought was something you would never do becomes something you have done.
Self-improvement author Dale Carnegie said, “Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.”
Get busy making your dream come true. No doubt you are ready.
