I saw a quote this morning that inspired me.  Psychologist Carl Rogers once said, “People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be.  When I look at a sunset, I don’t find myself saying, ‘Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner.’  I don’t try to control a sunset.  I watch with awe as it unfolds.”

As our children blossom into teenagers, or friends and partners change paths or jobs or goals, or we decide to wake up one morning and start a whole new journey.  Each of us is a breath-taking sunset that is perfectly imperfect.  Bowing out each day in blazing glory and rising again to shine our light on the world.

Do we let those around us be the sunset they were meant to be?  Do we shine bright even if some say our light hurts their eyes?

All we can do each day is rise and shine.  While letting others do the same.

As Oprah Winfrey once said, “Your future’s so bright, it burns my eyes.”

Shine on and make it happen.
