I’m reading a book called Playing Big by Tara Mohr.  She talks about schools training us to learn from the outside in.  Reading textbooks or watching videos or hearing stories about the way it’s done and replicating it.  She says, “The message is that the value we have to contribute on a topic comes from information absorbed from an external source — from the teacher’s lecture, from the homework reading, from research.”

And while that is true to an extent, in order to blaze a trail in life, at your job, in your quest to make change, you have to add something else from the inside.  Your view, your ideas, your solutions.  You have to offer something from the inside out. Continue reading
