There’s something about November. It’s a bridge between a crisp, colourful October and a frosty, grey December. It’s also a reminder that the year will soon be coming to a close and we have things to do before it does.
Henry Rollins once said, “The month of November makes me feel that life is passing more quickly. In an effort to slow it down, I try to fill the hours more meaningfully.”
As we pull out our warmer coats and cozier boots, what can we also pull out of our mindset? What plans can we make? What actions can we take? What can we get done before we turn the page on our calendar to start a new year?
Sometimes we are so focused on our future goals that we forget how much we can get done in a day. Or even in a quiet hour. When we truly focus on our why.
Jeff Rich said, “The one thing we know about the future is that it comes only one day at a time.”
So let’s use each day in November to take one small step up the mountain of our dreams. And who knows? We might reach the summit and have to plan a new climb for 2017.
