Behavioural scientist and author Dr. Steve Maraboli said, “We all make mistakes, have struggles, and even regret things in our past. But you are not your mistakes, you are not your struggles, and you are here now with the power to shape your day and your future.”

We all have days when we make mistakes, but they do not define us.  We are more than our mistakes.  We are who we are because of our mistakes.  As long as you learn from them, own them and apologize to anyone you may have hurt along the way.

As actor Mary Tyler Moore said, “Take chances, make mistakes. That’s how you grow. Pain nourishes your courage. You have to fail in order to practice being brave.”

Pain nourishes your courage.  And you need that courage to do what you were meant to do.  So take the path and if it’s the wrong one for you, change course.  The only mistake you’ll regret in life is doing nothing at all.

As Irish writer Oscar Wilde said, “Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes.”

Here’s to experiencing life and knowing that we are perfectly imperfect.
