Barack Obama once said, “Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”
We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. I really needed to be reminded of this. Rather than waiting for the phone to ring or the promotion to come or the lottery machine to start ringing, we just need to look in the mirror.
There lies the answer. The place where the magic happens. The power to make the dreams come true.
Will it be easy? Will the road be smooth? Will everything fall into place?
No chance.
But if we take the reins and put our skills into action, are we at least moving in the right direction?
Yes.
We must hunt for opportunities, start before we are ready, embrace the idea that we won’t know all the answers.
It’s always a safe bet when we bet on ourselves.
