I saw a tweet from Jay Shetty this week that said, “What will people think and say?  This thought has killed more dreams than anything else in the world.”

When will we embrace the fact that what other people think of us is none of our business?

None of our business.

There will always be someone telling us we’re doing it wrong.  We’re not playing by the rules.  Who do we think we are?

But the thing that must be realized is that no one can define you because you’re an original.  Your thoughts, your dreams, your feelings, your desires, your passions, your challenges, your quirks, your gifts.  And the perfectly imperfect combination of all those traits, that is your power.  It is your X-Factor.  It is your destiny.

We can try to push our true self down inside.  We can wear a mask and a smile and go about our life in an inauthentic way.  But one day, it will catch up to us.  So why not take the mask off now?

Why wait?

If the only opinion that matters is our own, the decision is ours for the making.

So what do you love to do?  Where would you love to work?  Where would you like to travel?  What gifts do you wish you could share?

The clock is ticking and it’s always better to regret the things you did than the things you didn’t do.

So turn up the volume on your inner voice, pour some action on those dreams and start blazing trails.  We are buying what you are selling.  We’re just waiting for someone to invite us along for the ride.
