Poet Rachel Richardson said, “Whatever makes a thing unmakes it too.”

Powerful.  So all the qualities we have that make us successful can also bring us down.  It could be perfectionism or work ethic.  It could be our ability to multi-task or focus on one project.  It could be our unending ability to say yes.  Or our need to help anyone who asks.

The thing is, that’s what makes us who we are.  We can’t unlove the part of us that brings challenges because that same DNA helps us climb the mountain as well.

Whatever makes a thing unmakes it too.

All we can do is remember what author and mythologist Joseph Campbell said, “No one in the world was ever you before, with your particular gifts and abilities and possibilities.”

So embrace all that you are.  The good, the bad and the challenging.  You need every part of you to grow into what you were meant to be.  To fail and succeed and change the world.

Everything about you is perfectly imperfect.  And the world needs you exactly as you are.
