Our soul is kind of like a gas tank. If it gets drained, we lose steam, can’t get ahead and may even break down. But when we surround ourselves with experiences that inspire us and people who support us, our soul is full and ready to embrace the journey. It is empowering.
We all know what fills our soul. Good friends, loved ones, uplifting stories, delicious meals, breath-taking sunsets, thought-provoking books, stimulating adventures, grateful hearts and realized dreams.
I just spent a weekend with friends who I have known for almost thirty years. They are soul sisters. They know my gifts and my flaws. They accept me as I am and I do the same. I came home feeling like I could do anything. As military leader Ferdinand Foch once said, “The most powerful weapon on earth is the human soul on fire.”
What sets your soul on fire? Who makes you believe in yourself beyond reason? Make a list of things that fill your soul and then tick off your list one by one.
As Soichiro Honda, automobile innovator, once said, “The value of life can be measured by how many times your soul has been deeply stirred.”
Never stop stirring things up and filling your soul.
